Paris, France – Eat Like a Local!

Eating in Paris can be quite costly depending on where you are and where you stay. As a family of four, I always try to find economical ways to feed my family. We try to avoid the high tourist areas in Paris because from our experience the food is not nearly as good. In my humble opinion, the best and most economical way to eat food that delicious and filling is to eat like a local. One key factor in eating economically is finding the places where the locals eat and shop. I always make sure that our Airbnb is in close proximity to markets and local eateries. While in Paris, we stayed in the 17th Arrondissement which had so many local bakeries, markets, and wonderful places to eat. Additionally, Paris is extremely diverse and you can find all types of food in the various areas. I also like to cook a few meals during our stay. It is fun to try simple meals while in another country.

Croissants in Paris, France – Eat like a local

When you visit Paris, one of the best places for croissants is the La Maison D’Isabelle. They won the top prize for the best croissants in Paris and the surrounding region in 2018. Maison D’Isabelle is not far from Notre Dame and is located in the 5th arrondissement in the Latin Quarter. Unfortunately, there is no place and there is generally a line but it is worth the trip and time in line. When we visited in December of 2022, the price was 1.50 euros, which is less than $2.00.
